With news surfacing a few days ago that SNSD would be performing in Japan’s FNS Music Festival on December 4th, netizens wondered whether KARA would be doing the same.

Taste a little bit of Big Bang flavor in Japan

From November 21st to December 12th Japanese ice cream and pastries company, Marvelous Cream will offer a special edition of ice cream featuring the members of Big Bang. The flavors are Strawberry Rose Chocolate for G-Dragon, Chocolate Banana for SOL (Taeyang), Strawberry Azuki Beans for T.O.P, Melon Milk Cake for D-Lite (Daesung) and Raspberry White Chocolate for V.I. (Seungri). Each ice cream includes different layers of ice cream for fans to enjoy.
The layer and menu for the individual ice cream flavors were ideas provided by each of the members of Big Bang. The entire box set including all 5 flavors will cost 2,300 yen or around $27 US.

4minute unveils tracklists + covers for first Japanese album!

Powerhouse K-pop girl group 4minute is gearing up to release their very first Japanese album! Titled “DIAMOND“, it will be released in two formats, CD and CD+DVD, on December 15th. Although originally listed for release on December 1st, the album was revealed to have been pushed back two weeks through 4minute’s official Japanese site.
The album is set to include the group’s first three singles, “Muzik“, “I My Me Mine“, and “FIRST“. B-sides from those singles, such as “Dreams Come True” and “Goodbye”, did not make the final cut.
The album will also include a mix of songs from their first and second Korean mini-albums, “For Muzik” and “Hit Your Heart”, as well as some new tracks.

KARA to auction off personal items for charity

The ladies of KARA have apparently created a charitable fund on their online shopping mall, ‘Karaya‘. In order to garner funds for the charity they’re sponsoring, members Park Gyuri, Goo Hara, and Kang Jiyoung will be auctioning off clothes and accessories from their activities in Japan.
All items will start off as 10 cents, and the auctions will end on the 30th of November. All proceeds will go to the charity, ‘Blue Neighbor‘, which caters to the needs of orphanages and convalescent homes.
Meanwhle, they’ll be performing on the 19th on Asahi TV’s music program “Music Station“, before flying back to Korea on the 20th to debut their new single ”Jumping” through “Music Core.”

Kimura Takuya parodies the KARA “butt” dance

Top Japanese star Kimura Takuya showed off his dance skills by shaking his hips to the famous KARA “Mister” song.
He recently appeared on TBS’s “Ochano Mizu Hakase” where he parodied the infamous ‘butt’ dance. The star is a huge male icon in Japan, so it’s no passing incident for him to know the “Mister” dance.
Fans of KARA in Korea are reportedly excited that their favorite girl group is achieving such fame in their neighbor country.
The episode will be broadcast on the 30th (KST).

U-KISS invited to perform in Singapore’s ‘The Kings of Freedom Concert’

Idol group U-KISS will be driving their Singaporean fans wild!
The group departed from Korea on November 19th in order to attend “The Kings of Freedom Concert” in Singapore. The concert is a community-outreach effort, sponsored by the Youth Empire, to promote harmony within the multi-cultural community. The event will begin at 8PM at Bedok Reservoir Park.
With many top Singaporean celebrities in attendance, U-KISS is the only international artist to be invited. The group recently took #1 on a popularity poll for international artists in Singapore, and was even extended a special invite by Singapore’s Foreign Minister, George Yeo.
The boys will be performing songs like “Shut Up!,” “Man Man Ha Ni,” and “Bingeul Bingeul.”
U-KISS stated, “It’s an incredible honor to be able to participate in one of Singapore’s biggest concerts. As representatives of Korea, we will show them the charm of Korean music.”

SDN48 visits 4minute in Korea

A special meeting occurred between girl groups 4minute and SDN48 on November 17th.
The two teams first met after SDN48 visited Korea for the first time in order to promote their new album track, “GAGAGA.” The 12 member Japanese girl group went to 4minute’s agency, Cube Entertainment, immediately after arriving in Korea. Over eight media representatives were present, showing much interest in the meeting between the two girl groups.
4minute personally followed the choreography for SDN48’s “GAGAGA”, and showed off their friendship by encouraging and supporting one another.  Since the 4minute members are currently undergoing intense Japanese studies, they were able to freely converse with the SDN48 members, maintaining a lively and fun environment.
SDN48 will be releasing their official debut album in both Korea and Japan on the 24th, while 4minute will continue their third single promotions for “First” in Japan.

Brown Eyed Girls to make their comeback for January 2011!

Yet another reason to look forward to the new year!
The management agency for Brown Eyed Girls, Nega Network, released a statement recently about their activities as a group. “Currently, they’re working on their album, and they plan to make a comeback in January of next year,” the representative stated.
They added, “The members have been busy these days with their solo activities, and although they’ve had some great results, they plan to meet their fans as a group next year.”
The upcoming album will be their 4th. Fans are already in a state of high anticipation since their last single, “Sign“, was released a year and 3 months ago. The girls, knowing that they’ve got some high expectations to meet, are reportedly working hard on ensuring that their release will be a success.

Japanese hosts do “Abracadabra” for Brown Eyed Girls, some fans not pleased

A handful of Brown Eyed Girls fans are apparently displeased with the actions of the hosts of Japanese comedy show, “Shabekuri 007“.
The show aired on November 15th, and the members performed their hit, “Abracadabra“. Miryo served as the main speaker and translator for the group, as she is fluent in Japanese.
What became a slight controversy is when the hosts decided to try out the “Abracadabra” hip dance themselves while slowly moving towards the girls, which caused the girls to scream. Some netizens were not comfortable with the situation, and suggested that it was harassment.
However, Brown Eyed Girls’ management agency stated differently, commenting, “It was an ad-lib. It’s simply a difference in culture. Since they’re having activities in Japan, they should adjust to the cultural tendencies on the shows. The members did not feel bad about it.”
They added, “In fact, Japanese fans of K-pop who are aware of Korean culture actually apologized. They were even worried that the Brown Eyed Girls might be traumatized. They said sorry.”

Throughout the years, only a few Asian actors have been able to break through into Hollywood and become acknowledged as a top actor. However, it looks like singer/girl group KARA, a.k.a Diva legendary, was able to be accepted as an ‘A- list’ actor, thanks mostly to the success of his promotion American Artist, “First american album jumping english version“.
“I didn’t know KARA would be considered an Singer/Girls group in the Hollywood’s A-list. Jiyeon’s difficulties causes her to shed tears on “T-ara Dream Girls”

Images of T-ara’s Jiyeon crying on this week’s episode of “T-ara Dream Girls” were recently revealed.
The show puts the members through various career tests in order to try out some of the most desired careers of women in their 20s. Currently training to becoming stewardesses, the members first failed their exams last week, but continued on to retake it.
This week’s episode focused on emergency situations, as they were taught what to do and how to behave when instructing passengers on how to safely exit the plane. Due to the serious nature of the lecture, instructors were stricter than usual, eventually causing Jiyeon to burst out in tears.
Member Eunjung revealed, “Jiyeon never stated it, but the exams for this career exceed the level of college exams. Since she’s only just a high school student, it hasn’t been easy for her.”
Instructors added, “Jiyeon has been doing exceptionally well lately, so we fully believe that she can do this.”
Producers of the show were taken back by the 18-year-old maknae’s tears, since she always took on missions with a bright smile.
The full episode will broadcast at 11 PM on November 17th.

The members of KARA sent over some pictures from their waiting room at a large-scale concert held in Japan’s Saitama Super Arena on November 3rd. The pictures showed off a lot more of the girls’ natural sides, in comparison to their stage image – fans, prepare to swoon over these girls’ stunning looks and cute expressions!

T-ara confirms December 3rd comeback!

It has been confirmed that T-ara is currently preparing for their official comeback early next month. On November 15th, T-ara’s agency stated that the group will be releasing their new mini-album and make their comeback through KBS 2TV’s ‘Music Bank’ on December 3rd, with the addition of their new 7th member!
T-ara unleashed their first full album ‘Absolute First Album ‘ last December, and continued promotions for their repackaged album shortly after. The group’s upcoming mini-album will mark their first new track in 10 months.
Many fans are particularly anticipating the addition of the 7th member, Ryu Hwayoung, twin of Co-Ed’s One Light Hyoyoung.

After School’s Lizzy has become a fixed panelist on SBS’s “Running Man.”
Producers of the show were interviewed on November 14th and confirmed Lizzy’s role for the show, revealing, “She joined last week and has already finished recording an episode.”
They continued, “Song Ji Hyo is the only fixed female cast member on ‘Running Man.’ Lizzy has a different sort of charm compared to Song Ji Hyo so we’re anticipating their synergy. ‘Running Man’ is on the rise lately, pulling in an average viewer rating of 15%.”

The photo Hara revealed is a picture of all five members wearing chubby animal suits. Gyuri turned into a rabbit, Seungyeon a monkey, Nicole a fox, Jiyoung a cow, and Hara a bear.
Fans expressed, “This is so cute”, “I want to raise the KARA animals myself”, “I don’t think anyone can pull off being ‘cute’ as much as them.”

A netizen recently uploaded a ‘face-body ratio analysis’ picture on a popular internet community site, and it has since been stirring quite a discussion.
What fascinated them was that even with Seungyeon’s short height of 158cm (5.2 ft), her height is equivalent to 7.5 times her face size, thanks to her small face.

G.NA’s ‘Say You Love Me’ accused of plagiarism

G.NA’s brand-new single, “Say You Love Me” has fallen into a plagiarism controversy.
Recently on an internet community site, there have been accusations that G.NA’s “Say You Love Me” sounded very similar to Keyshia Cole’s “Fallin’ Out.”
A netizen wrote, “While listening to G.NA’s song, I realized that it sounded similar to the base tunes of Keyshia Cole’s ‘Fallin’ Out.’ The overall atmosphere and the chorus sound the same.”
The netizen also pointed out, “The melody during the lyrics, ‘Did you know that no one can live inside my heart except you’ and ‘Did you know that the love that is inside me is you’ from G.NA’s song sound similar to the melody of Keyshia’s song during the lyrics, ‘How did we end up here this way what are we gonna do boy’ and ‘I need you to meet me half way if you want me to be with you.’”
Regardless of the melody sounding the same, other netizens disagreed, commenting, “Some parts of the song sound a bit alike, but it’s far-fetched to say it’s plagiarism“.

Orange Caramel unveils album jacket cover for “Aing♡”!

Orange Caramel has been teasing fans with photos of their new album concept and of the individual members. While fans were already looking forward to the new release, the unveiling of their official album jacket cover has legitimized the upcoming arrival.
Their entertainment company, Pledis Entertainment, released the picture through their official homepage on November 15th.  Following the picture of their album cover, the company will also be releasing yet another teaser for Orange Caramel’s ‘Aing♡‘ later on.
The girls have been grabbing attention for their fairy-tale concepts of “Alice Lizzy,” “Snow White Nana,” and “Little Red Riding Hood Raina,” and fans are looking forward to the bubbly track that’s sure to accompany such an adorable image.
A representative of their company stated, “We will show everyone a trend that only Orange Caramel can show with their cheerful energy. We are preparing a stage for the upgraded Orange Caramel.”

KARA ‘jumps’ to First place on Oricon Daily chart

The girls of KARA, with their newest single “Jumping,” have hit overseas success once again.
According to DSP Entertainment on November 15th, KARA’s song “Jumping” took the first spot on Japan’s Oricon Daily chart. With this achievement, KARA has taken both of their Japanese singles to the top 1 of the Oricon charts.
In addition to their achievement on the Oricon chart, KARA’s music video for “Jumping” placed first in downloads on Japan’s “iTunes Store Video Clip,” while their song hit First place on the rankings for “iTunes Store Pop.”
Not only are the girls attaining a strong fanbase in Japan, but they’ve also hit first place back home on the real-time charts of music portal sites, moments after the release of the song.
Furthermore, the girls of KARA will begin their promotions this week, following the release of their Korean fourth mini-album on the 16th.

Rainbow celebrates their one year anniversary

Girl group Rainbow recently revealed the whole slew of presents they received from their fans in celebration of their one year anniversary.
The group’s anniversary was on November 13th, which was also the day of their goodbye stage for their “Mach” promotions. Various bouquets, rice cakes, and other gifts were delivered to their waiting room by their fans. What caught the attention of many, however, were the various health drinks that the fans prepared, impressing netizens with their care for the girls’ health.
As soon as the gifts were received, the members immediately expressed their thanks, “We’ll be working even harder from now on. Thank you to our fans for giving us so much attention and love, we’ll be paying everyone back with better music. Please don’t be too disappointed that our promotion cycle for this album was so short. With Orange Caramel’s official comeback drawing ever so nearer, the group has so far unveiled teaser photos for members Lizzy, Nana and Raina, as well as revealing the name and a short description plus album jacket cover of their new title track, ‘Aing♡‘.
Pledis Entertainment announced earlier that their new track was co-produced by singer Wheesung and Jo Young So, the creator of Orange Caramel’s last hit, ‘Magic Girl‘.
A short MV teaser of ‘Aing♡’ has just been released by Pledis today, and you can already tell that the song is just oozing with cuteness.

Introducing New girl group ‘J&B Dolls

J&B Dolls make their debut

Scotch whiskey brand J&B has revealed a new five member performance group, J&B Dolls.

J&B held an audition in June which attracted 400 different contestants, and members Yeo Wool, Yurim, Eun Song, Juhee, and Hyemin were chosen to form the J&B Dolls.

The brand J&B itself is quite popular not only amongst the youth but with college students and older people as well. The Pldis J&B DollS “Looks That Kill company took a year to produce their debut album, along with four months of intense training. Group 015B’s member Jang Ho Il is their main producer, along with many musicians from popular drama and musical OSTs such as “Coffee House” and “Dance If You Love.”

J&B Dolls released their first debut album on the 11th through their official site, and is planning to create a variety of events in order to converse with consumers.

J&B’s brand manager, Han Sung Kyu, stated on the 12th, “J&B’s modern and stylish image will be delivered well through J&B Dolls’ impressive music and looks. Their unique marketing style will help raise the worth of the premium Scotch whiskey brand that is J&B.”

The group will begin their activities on the 15th with a performance at a famous club.

While iMe and Top Combine both belong to Korean company Daesung/Pledis and Chinese company DSP Media, iMe is also a part of Thai company True Fantasia

New multinational girlgroup iMe’s MV for “The Limit of Friendship”, the third single from their debut EP was recently released showing off the gorgeous beaches of Thailand. Also in the MV is their Shi Ge, Top Combine’s Zhang Yuan, whose beautiful voice is featured in the song. The girls have had a full schedule flying back between various countries in the past few months. In China, they did photoshoots for Sohu website and Easy magazine, and went on shows including one with HIT-5. In Thailand, which they’ve visited twice now, not only did they film their MV, but they performed at True Fantasia, and went on a succession of shows. They will also be releasing a song in Thai.
