Girl’s Day says “Nothing Lasts Forever” on Music Core

Having gone through member changes just two months after debuting in July, Girl’s Day made a return last week with their 2nd single album, “Nothing Lasts Forever“, hoping to do better than their debut.
There has been nothing but widespread anticipation for Girl’s Day’s performance on stage after their MV was released last week. That anticipation increased after it was revealed that the song, “Nothing Lasts Forever” was a joint composition between Korean composer, Kim Ji Hyang, and Annet Artani, a New York-based producer who worked on Britney Spears’ “Everything.”
The girls made their second comeback performance through Music Core on November 6th.

After completing their first comeback stage on November 5th through KBS 2TV’s “Music Bank,” the members of Girls’ Day reportedly burst into tears.
The girls were backstage nervously wringing their hands, as they perked up their ears to determine how the audience received them. When a reporter finally told them that the response was positive, the girls let it all go and began crying with relief.
Member Sojin stated, “It’s our comeback stage, but we’re thinking of it as our debut stage. It was extremely nerve-wracking, but we think we did okay. I’m glad that our fans enjoyed it as well. All I can think of right now is how thankful I am for everything. My heart’s beating so fast.”
The group first debuted this past July with their title track, “Tilt My Head“. Their image at the time was cute and lovely, but all of that was thrown away for their “Nothing Lasts Forever” comeback.
Mina revealed, “We were really upset at the time. There was so much pressure that we weren’t able to show off all our skills, and because we tried to do too well, our actions seemed kind of exaggerated. We cried a lot after reviewing the performances.”
Sojin continued, “A performance is a performance, but we adopted the mentality that a singer is someone who must sing well; listeners should immediately tell who the person is with just their voice. We became determined to exhibit our own musical style.”

Their member change was also considered a success as well. Their new members Yura and Hyeri showed off their impressive dance moves while synchronizing smoothly with the original members.
Hyeri said, “We worried a lot in the beginning since we didn’t train for that long, and we’re still lacking a lot. At the same time, we were also hungry in wanting to give everything we had into the song. Thanks to the unnis that supported us, it feels like I took a step forward.”
Yura added, “We’re still going through image training every day. I hope that fans enjoy watching me grow since I promise to always show improvements.”

With regards to Britney Spears’s composer Annet Artani producing their song, Jihae stated, “Honestly, we didn’t know that Artani was a famous person. We were amazed when we later found out and found confidence knowing that she trusted us to do well.”
When asked about their hopes for the future, Mina responded, “Hopefully ‘Nothing Lasts Forever’ will get our name more known to the public. Our goal is to become a ‘national idol’ that is recognized by people of all age groups.”
Yura stated, “Fans, please watch us over. We want to become a petdol (Pet + Idol).”
Hyeri and Jihae added, “We want our performances to touch and move people. Singing, dancing, looks – we want to be perfect in everything. Please anticipate us.”
Sojin concluded, “From here on out, we’ll continue to improve. We may still be lacking, but we’d like our fans to anticipate the best for us. Please call us the ’selfish idols’ that hopes to become ‘national idols,’ ‘pet idols,’ and even ‘perfect idols’ (laughter).”
Girls’ Day will be holding their second comeback on the 6th through MBC’s “Show! Music Core“.

Orange Caramel to comeback with second mini album!

After their successful debut with ‘Magic Girl‘, the demand for an Orange Caramel comeback has been steadily increasingly amongst fans. Well, their wishes have finally been granted, as the group will be returning with their second mini-album!
A teaser image was uploaded onto Pledis Entertainment’s official homepage, and fans have been buzzing over a picture of a book with the title ‘Orange Caramel – The Second Mini Album‘.
The agency stated, “We are currently getting ready for a lovely, yet dazzling comeback stage with a concept that everyone will be happy to watch.”
From next week onwards, Orange Caramel will be releasing staggered comeback teaser photos through their official homepage, leading up to their comeback promotions.

Earlier in the week top Korean groups Big Bang, KARA, 4minute, 2NE1, FT Island, CNLUE, Brown Eyed Girls, U-KISS, Rainbow, and Teen Top gathered in Japan to perform for the “Seoul Tokyo Music Festival 2010.”
The event was held on November 3rd at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. This event was a collaboration between Korean broadcasting channel SBS and Japanese broadcasting channel TBS in celebration of SBS’s 20th anniversary. Earlier today, SBS program One Night gave us a glimpse behind the scenes for this mega event. More than 16,000 people attended the concert and tickets sold out in under 2 minutes!

KARA performs “Jumping” live #1 jpop chart

After revealing the PV for their upcoming Japanese single “Jumping,” the girls of KARA performed the track for the very first time live on Mezamashi TV. The track is also the opening theme song for the morning Fuji TV program.

AKB48’s Sato Natsuki shows her friendship with KARA’s Goo Hara

Recently, girl groups KARA and AKB48 took selcas together at the ‘2010 Asia Song Festival‘, and now AKB48’s Sato Natsuki demonstrated their friendship even more by exhibiting ‘couple cell phone charms’ made with KARA’s Goo Hara.
Sato Natsuki uploaded a picture onto her blog with the caption, ‘Hara-sshi and Natsuki, matching couple cellphone charms‘. The picture of the ‘couple cell phone charms’ shows Hara’s ‘H’ and Natsuki’s ‘N’ branded on a cell phone strap.
Sato Natsuki also wrote, ‘I’m very happy! My friend is so pretty. I wrote the Korean word for ‘friend’ phonetically in Japanese. I will study Korean even harder!”
The two groups are friendly rivals in the Japanese music industry, and both have been receiving a lot of attention in the media. During the ‘2010 Asia Song Festival’, a lot of media members from Japan came to Korea to cover the two groups.

KARA reveals more album jacket photos for “Jumping”

On November 4th, KARA’s agency revealed a few teaser photos for their upcoming mini-album, “Jumping“, and today, a few more tantalizing shots have been released.
The first batch of photos included Nicole, Gyuri, and Jiyoung, and the new photos cover the rest of the members, Hara and Seungyeon.

The new album utilizes an optical art concept of black and white geometric patterns, which differs depending on each member’s physical characteristics and image.
The KARA members digested the concept very well, and they were able to exhibit the fine details of every pose, earning much praise from the staff.
The fans expressed, “I’m looking forward to the chic and unique concept,” and “KARA has displayed different kinds of charisma for every album, and I bet this song will be a hit as well.”
KARA’s new album, “Jumping” will be released on November 8th via major online music sites.

Nominees for the ‘25th Golden Disk Awards’ revealed!

The ‘Golden Disk Awards‘ has recently revealed their nominees for its 2010 awards ceremony, set to be held on December 9th at Koryeo University.
The awards show first began in 1986, and since then, it’s become Korea’s most prestigious awards ceremony for music. Nicknamed the ‘Korean Grammy Awards,’ the ceremony is known for its fair standards, as the committee utilizes figures from album and digital music sales only.
Due to such simplistic standards, the show is able to feature the truly successful artists that have received the love of the public each year, including the ‘indie’ or ‘underground musicians.

KARA releases cheerleader version of “Jumping” MV

KARA releases cheerleader version of “Jumping” MV

KARA recently became CF models for a popular Japanese news agency, KDDI, starting November 3rd. In order to help promote KDDI’s “au Santa’s Challenge” event (which is centered around the “Run & Walk” campaign), the girl group released a second version of their “Jumping” ...MV on November 5th.
The music video was revealed through Universal Music Japan’s
official Youtube channel. In it, the girls have transformed into
cheerleaders to adjust to the new theme, while simultaneously
emphasizing their cute and cheery image.
KARA being chosen to model for KDDI is an exceptional achievement, as
KDDI is known for their ‘au’ brand, which holds a 30% share in NTT Docomo.
Popular Japanese band Arashi are also models for the brand.
The girls will be releasing their fourth mini-album in Korea on the 17th.

KARA HARA ,AKB48’s Ohshima Yuko loves A Bathing Ape

KARA,AKB48 member,Goo Hara, Ohshima Yuko professed that she’s a huge fan of clothing brand, A BATHING APE. Yuko recently wrote on her blog, “I’m a APE girl today, both my T-shirt and hoodie.  A lot of Milo-san’s (the character of BAPE). I am now relaxing at home after the shoot.”
The brand is internationally renown for its original graphics and designs; in fact, it hardly seems like your street fashion collection isn’t complete without a BAPE shirt these days.
It’s likely that Yuko’s fans will rush to grab BAPE pieces after reading the blog entry.

KARA will be hosting “Sakigake! Ongaku Banzuke”

The members of KARA have been chosen as fixed MCs for a Japanese music program.
According to Fuji TV, KARA will be appearing on their talk show music program, “Sakigake! Ongaku Banzuke“, starting November 3rd.
Representatives of the program previously visited KARA in Korea last month in order to report on KARA’s “Jumping” album jacket photo shoot.
KARA will be the MCs for only the show’s opening and ending segments since they must promote in both Korea and Japan. A three month old rookie singer being given the MC position to a famous music program is definitely an exceptional case for both industries.
KARA will be releasing their second Japanese single, “Jumping,” on the 10th, along with a Korean mini-album on the 17th. “Girls Talk” will be released on the 24th. Their Japanese management agency is currently predicting 200,000 in album sales. KARA best Asian female Group!

The ladies of KARA,4minute,T-ara have been quite busy promoting their  Japanese single, ‘Jumping,First,Dream girls.’ Since it’s unclear when they will wrap up their Japanese promotions, they will release their comeback album in late November at the earliest.
It appears that many of Korea’s representative girl groups – including , KARA, 4minuteand T-ara – will be making their comebacks before the end of the year. Looks like it’ll be a head-to-head battle between the girls for the top of the charts!

Kara reveals teaser image of “Jumping” album cover!

On November 4th, Kara’s agency has revealed teaser images from the album jacket of their upcoming album, “Jumping“.
“Jumping” will be released in both Korea and Japan, and many Korean fans are looking forward to the new project, as its been 9 months since “Lupin“.
A Daesung,Pledis  DSP Entertainment official stated, “Kara’s new album utilizes the optical art concept of black and white geometric patterns, which differs depending on each member’s physical characteristics and image.” He added, “You will see a new and upgraded Kara with these modern, yet chic images.”
The first teaser picture features Nicole, Jiyoung and Gyuri; DSP Entertainment stated that photos of the 2 other members, Hara and Seungyeon will be released at a later date.
“Jumping” will be released in Japan on November 10th, and the Korean version is due out in mid-November.

Avex Group Big Bang, 2NE1, KARA, 4minute, Brown Eyed Girls and more gather for SEOUL TOKYO MUSIC FESTIVAL 2010

Top Korean groups Big Bang, KARA, 4minute, 2NE1, FTIsland, CNBlue, Brown Eyed Girls, U-KISS, Rainbow, and Teen Top gathered in Japan to perform for the “Seoul Tokyo Music Festival 2010.”
The event was held earlier today at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. This event was a collaboration between Korean broadcasting channel SBS and Japanese broadcasting channel TBS in celebration of SBS’s 20th anniversary. The performances from this event will air on SBS on November 12th as a special episode, along with a 3-D production of the concert. TBS will air this concert at a later date in December.

SS501’s very own Park Jung Min was the MC for the event and reports state that the event was a major success. Check out some of the photos from the press conference below.

A very awesome event, we’ll have to wait until the 12th for it to air on SBS.
